Re: 21 sportscraft

I have been out 55 miles, out of keaton beach fl. in one of these w/ a 225 o/b I built these boats for 7 years out of Perry fl. they are very solid boats made with a 1-1/2" transom. in 89 they were still built with marine grade fiber plywood, and the glass work was top notch and hand layed, they were bought out by another company around 2003. it sounds like a good deal on the boat.

b3.pngDo they have any problems with the rivits leaking? So a 175 will work on it? I live in nc and plane on fishing in the sound and around cape lookout, there is no problem with salt water and these boats. Would like to thank anyone that helps a fellow out.

Rivits ?? I recently bought a '92 232 WAC, very clean freshwater boat out of ohio. Heard rumors about wood rot in stringers.
I can tell you it's no rumor !!! Check all stringers, bulkheads, transom for rot !!!!!!!!!

I have an '84 22' w/a, and haven't had any rot problems other then the coffin cover (non-structural panel over the fuel tank). I like mine, and feel like it's built like a tank.

Check it thoroughly, or get a survey if you're not sure what you should be looking at/for. For $1200, if the motor runs, and the boat floats, seems pretty good to me.
