Dougy, you're making me nervous up here. The moment you mention attacking the epoxy is followed by days of radio silence. Hope all is well on the project.

Hey Andy, sorry, been really busy with work. Double shifts don't leave much time for projects, and the worst thing is two more small ones came about during the week, but they are takin care of.

Sorry about the wheezing, bad cold and pollen is literally making a dust storm around here to top my cold off.

Forgot to mention, the stripper makes the epoxy brittle, but does not take it off. A wire wheel is probably my weapon of choice to get the epoxy off without ruining the hull surface. No erosion on hull so far.

One last thing, the gas tank leaks ever so slowly from the corrosion I shown from the bottom of the tank. I'm not sure if JB weld or something of the sort would be safe for this or not. Its only a small strip of corrosion where something caused corrosion between the tank and a black plastic spacer.

Any hole in a gas tank is bad,..

Personally I would replace the tank,....

Fixing it leaves open to great of a chance for dangerous problems in the future,...In my opinion,..

I'm keeping all reciepts just to show you guys how much it costs me to get this thing back on the water, whether it be sandpaper, gloves, or a 200 horse engine, everything will be accounted for.

Have a good night everybody

Dougy,

I've been reading this site for the past few days. I just found your thread and have read it up to date. I love the videos. More pictures please too!! Also, have you been keeping up with the costs? I am really curious on that. I'd like a good ball park so I know what I need for a 22'. I have noticed a lot of people who have started projects and never finished them. I don't want to create another unfinished thread in the future.

Thanks

Tractors, so far costs are minimal, I bought a new lithium battery for my drill just for this project so I don't need to take breaks, along with a wire wheel, stripper, and a new 1/4 drill bit. The expensive stuff will come once I have to run wiring, gauges, and all the goodies that attach to it. Wood should cost me just a tad over a 100, epoxy about 100, flooring about 100, vynl 100, paint 300, little accessories 200.. and I'm gonna research just how cheap you can buy a brand new evinrude with cash in front of there face. But, I have been seeing respectable engines in the 200 size going for 5k.If i can rebuild this boat for 4-4500 before engine I'll be satisfied. I'm not going to be cheap so just know there are cheaper routs to every rebuild.
