22' pontoon prop question.

if it coulda' been done , it would have, right?
Whether electric or oil controlled, complexity, cost, and compatibility with environments would've been prohibitive.

imagine a prop replacement cost .

Got the new tach installed today, and started cleaning the pontoons. Since I’m in the HVAC trade I just used coil cleaner, it works wonders lol. Can’t figure out how to post pics or I would, keeps saying they are to big.

Prop is scheduled to be here tomorrow and as long as the weather holds up I should have an answer on what it needs.

I remember spraying Coil Cleaner in the Condenser Coils, then blasting them with combo of Air and Water. That stuff was an Acid if I remember, but no where near as strong as the ones used to clear Urinals

As for the Photos, "Attach Files" works for me, but the MPs and/or the Resolution can't be too Big.
You might have to open the Pic in an Editor, and reduce the number of pixels, or use higher Compression Rates, when you save the file

yes coil cleaner is a mild acid, I run a service department for a large mechanical contractor and have both hvac and plumbers working for me. The urinal stuff is bad too lol we use it often. Years ago I bought actual pontoon cleaner for a project I was working on and that was super expensive…I just have this stuff laying around lol, you just have to neutralize it before it starts to oxidize. I have always had boats but none that the prop really mattered on lol, just small river boats and John boats. I bought one this one for my dad, he always wanted one and he had to have open heart surgery so I rushed to get it water ready so I could take him out before his surgery so he would have something to look forward to and keep his hopes up in the hospital. Now I’m trying to get it actually reliable before he gets out lol….i live in Houston,TX and we are already having 85* days lol.

Being a 2001, make sure the toons are water tight.

Chesapeake Bay is in Virginia / Maryland so it should be *F lol.

I did check the toons when I first got it, they have the usual stress cracks along the welds where the deck attaches to them, out of the 6 compartments only 1 was actually watertight, the others had a couple gallons of water in each of them, I drilled 1" holes and welded 1/2" threaded bungs on the top inside of the toons so I could drain them, and welded drain plugs in the bottom of the rear compartments. Next winter Ill strip the deck off and fix the cracks.
