Is there a bow mount trolling motor to go on the front of a 221 islander? I have looked at different pics on line but haven't seen any.Really have been considering trim and trolls but I like the control of a bow mount.

Man, a 22 foot boat would be awfully big for a bow mount. What kind of fishing are you doing?

Hey, welcome to iboats!:)

I agree with ol Jas...
You would need to find one with what, a 5 foot shaft or longer to get below the waterline?

I think your trolling solution for that rig would be one of those electric jobs that attaches to the outdrive. They are expensive however so would be the remote steer bow mount you'd need.

+1 on the outdrive troller. I've been eying one of those. You can use your steering wheel to control it from the helm. Sounds like a great solution.

I'm going to be running a 62" Minn-Kota Rip Tide 24 volt 80 lb. bow mount on my 22' Islander that I've converted into a center-console. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test it yet. But after taking measurements from a few other rigs I think it should work fine. Once spring rolls around I will know how it works.

I don't have a pic yet I picked it up in late November from a old farmer who bought it new in 92 he said 20 hours a year of use and I believe him.It ,to me ,is in very good shape. To the point it does not need much but a good cleaning and some electric on the front or back.I have read up on lenco and minnkota trim and troll but still undecieded.

Yah, I think the big difference is JD here cut out the cabin making it an open bow. A bow mount trolling motor on a cabin boat really doesn't, uh, yah know,

Cut off the roof, now you have a different animal all together.
