check the bleed valve that line blows off..
it has a one way check ball in it .
i/e you should be able to suck air out , but not blow it back in ..
pull line from cylinder fitting ( barb) ..and check .

Re: 225 carb.merc blowing off bleed lines

the piston goes up toward the head ,create's vacume in the crank case ..reed opens ,allows fuel mixture in through carb. fill crankcase with mix..piston goes down..creates pressure in crankcase ..close's reed ... pressure forces mix through transfer port in cylinder..to top of piston..
this same pressure forces the "puddle" of mixture where the bleed valve is located..the line carries this "puddle to the intake port where it is burned ..

hmmm...only thing that would "blow line off" is a partially clogged/clogged intake port ..and or barb fitting on intake port..
the fact that it is spitting out of carb is usually a leaking reed valve
