225 EFI not peeing

I have a 1998 Mercury 225 EFI not peeing. Water impeller is less than a year old and was pumping fine last time on the water (5 months ago). Noticed it not working today on muffs. The water intake shows to be clean and clear and I've stuck a piece of wire far up the pee hole. On this particular engine, the line is short enough that the wire can go all the way to the engine block and it feels unobstructed.
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

check the impeller.

all it takes is hitting a plastic bag or a piece of kelp in the water to block enough flow to fry an impeller

Thanks for the reply. I used a new set of muffs when running my motor this time. Impeller always pumped fine with my other set, so I'm wondering if it's the muffs. Going to try my other set tomorrow.

UPDATE: Tried my other set of muffs and it peed just fine 🤷🏻‍♂️ I had bought the new set a few months ago just to have an extra set. They are the rectangular kind, never dreamed they wouldn't seal good enough for water pressure for the impeller. My other set is the round kind.
