I have a ficht motor that I pulled the plugs out of to gap and clean. Took it out on Erie a week ago and run great! No more stubbling at idle and easy start up. As I entered Bula marina and shut it off it wouldnt restart. I can get spark but only by removing a plug. Itll fire and then after the plug is reinstalled itll go to no start. Dealer thinks its the ECM and not the sensor. Will a shorted ECM show signs of a start? Seems the increase in RPM makes it spark. New batt and connections have been tried. ECM says nothing wrong.

Minimum cranking speed about 350 - 300 RPM, unable to use tach if cranking too slow, try a photo-tach.

Possibly the starter has been slowing down but verify cranking RPM before buying a starter.

I took the starter off and bench tested it. Sounds and feels good. All the conn are right and was wondering if a batt charger would bump up my cranking speed. Seems I have a low cranking volt. Even tried hooking a sec batt to the ign and hot feed off the starter sol. Nothing! My volt gauge drops while cranking. What is the psi on the comp?

Tried to jump it with a 50amp 12v charger. I gained my tach back and still shows 900rpm cranking. Pull a plug and she will run. Install and just cranks. Why doesnt Evinrude have a hot-line.

Too COOL!!! Ive been reading some of the past threads started on diff motors. You guys got it going on!!!!!!! Its givin me a few ideas and led me to an Evinrude tech line. Guy was more than helpful! From what Im gathering if your self check led lights and your dealers lap top dont come up with anything then you have to start with a book. Hell a leaking inj will cause a no start and show signs of starter ploblems. SLOW cranking speed. Bottom line is if your led lights arent telling signs of trouble, check the fuel pressure. No diff than todays cars and trucks!;)
