Greetings all, I also posted this in the Johnson forum, but these are suzuki motors made for Johnson a few years ago.....

I have a set of 2005 225hp four stroke Johnsons (made by suzuki) on my boat and the port engine started leaking water from a small hole in the engine mount cover. This is Johnson pn 5035134. At first I though a plug fell out but the other engine has the same hole with no water coming out. The port side leaks water but its not under any pressure just kind of dribbles out.

Is anyone familiar with this ? I cant tell from the part catalog if its only separated from a water cavity by the mounting gasket or if the cover is no good. I didn't want to pull it off until I asked for input.

Thanks in advance.

Re: 225 Suzuki water leaking question

I thought I'd try again, this time with a picture. Anyone seen a leak in this area?

Can you tell me what is behind the engine mount cover in pic? Manual doesn't really show it.

thanks again folks.

Re: 225 Suzuki water leaking question

Thought I give it one last shot before the spring thaw.

Anyone seen a water leak from the hole in this picture? Could it be a hose behind the engine mount cover?

I will pull the cover next month when the cover comes off.

it's a drain hole. means a hose is leaking in back of the intake, fuel rail cooler lines or intake cooler lines or thermostat hose.real hard to see back their with out ripping into it,need torque wrench to put back together.

I wanted to post the outcome on this one. Turned out to be a gasket leaking behind the intake manifold, go figure.
