2272 seaark ventalation ?

i have 22 foot seaark jon . have a dent on bottom right at transom . having a lot of venting while turning . could this be what the cause is ?

we need to see pics of the bottom of the hull and the drive in relation to the keel in all positions.

blow-out can be caused by a number of factors.

Jon boat handling is not on the same level as V-hull handling and you do not mention if you are using a steering wheel from the side or center console.

If you have tilt and trim....... you might have to trim down before a hard turn. You might have to lower the motor a notch which will take a bit off top end but, might help.

As far as the dent..... VERY tough to get the dents out of aluminum. The metal does not like heat and could change the properties..... some people have filled the dents with marine tex or PC-11 just for piece of mind.

Don't know how big that dent is but it could effect boat handling if large enough. Right by the transom is the worst place for that. If you can get to both sides you can pound the dent out. With a steel block on one side and a ball peen hammer on the other. One of those body dent repair kits from harbor freight works well on aluminum too. If you can get it back close to the original shape you will have to use a lot less filler, on the bottom maybe nothing at all. I have used a bottle jack to push up a dent near the transom. A bend up at the transom is usually called a "hook" and down a "rocker".

thanks .it is a center console . motor mounted all the way down .i am thinking of a trade with this boat did a real quick motor test .dont think i turned but only left . trimed down and it vented bad , no paper work reason for quick test. 13 x 19prop .
