23" Pitch prop

Hi there,

Currently have a 14x21 prop on my boat (in signature). Its OK but want a lil more speed out of her. Just wondering how, if anyone, has tried a 23" prop on a Volvo AQ231. Im considering a Solas Amita 3 blade. Is OEM any better considering their triple the price?

What's your max wide open throttle rpm with your present prop?

Hi don,

Thats the one thing i can't guage perfectly. My tach is unreliable. Just seeing what some people were experiencing with a similar setup. Going to try one of those tiny tach's this spring. However, are OEM volvo props worth triple the price?

In my opinion no they aren't worth the triple price if aluminum.
Stainless results may or may not be worth the investment.
Solas Amita has a good reputation.You should wait till spring
