Re: 2359 owners, prop question

I have a 2359 ( 2001 model ) ... I was going to change props because I wanted stainless (now I am selling so no replacement ), but this one I was told was per factory specs as it was the original .... I cruise around 26-27 mph between 4000 and 4500 rpm ... wot is no better that 34 with light load, full tank, and smooth seas .... usually it is around 31-32 ... SO you are not to far off, but just enough to warrant the question.... however, the 2359 is a heavy boat and speed is not her gift...she has her benefits but with only 220 horses pushing a boat that dead empty still weighs more than 5200 lbs, there is only so much to expect out of her in that department....still very nice to have in a thunderstorm or rough seas ..... usually comfort ( and they are comfortable )is a tradeoff for speed unless you put really big bucks into a top of the line boat......please be careful not to exceed the recommended RPM's as I did this and ultimately paid the price ... if you find a good fit, let us know

I agree with lyle on the expectations. I have a 5.7L 2352 and can get it to 38 MPH on dead calm with trimmed correctly. I have a stainless 4-blade 14.65" x 16"P prop. I love the 4-blade. Boat planes much quicker.

i had a 4blade same size as yours, but now thats my spare. currently have a 3 blade 15pitch on it which seems to run better than the 4 blade.

i added a sport fin which made a world of difference on the boat. Boat will stay on plane and cruise at 23.

Stays on plane much easier, but still stuggles to get up.

From what i hear the bravo III is the key to performance.
