Can I use a 24 volt 50 amp circuit breaker on a 36 volt system? Installing an MK Uterra 112 ft lb. I read that the voltage diff wont matter, others say that it does. MK recommends a 60 amp CB. I previously had a 24 volt terrova and haven't had any problems with the CB tripping. Also the 36 volt system draws less amps than the 24 volt terrova. Would the 12 volts increase diff be a concern? comments please?

Will your boat burn up using a max 24/30V breaker in a 36V app? Probably not..........The voltage ratings is primarily (but not entirely limited to) arc suppression due to potential difference as an arc occurs upon the breaker opening the current path.........You're good but, not ideal, how's that?

never heard of a 24 volt cb, even the 10 PLL amps run on 12 volt

sure and i suspect your right, but in the cb world, a 10 transistor amplifier can draw up to 1500 amps so its nice to be clear, and their a few 32 transistor amps around
