Things like exhaust manifolds and risers, engine couplers, and gears for the 460 gear ratio are all NLA, (No Longer Availabe)
I remember a guy bought a used coupler about a year ago for $1200. Not bad for something that used to cost $300 brand new.

If HT32BSX115 happens to check this post you'll get the entire low down on the dreaded OMC 460 King Cobra deal. If your in love with the hull a repower to Merc or Volvo is your best bet. Then you can part out your dead player (OMC) on e-bay to help cover the cost.

Is there any dealer support for the King Cobra? Or is it all used parts and luck when you need something?

What should a boat like this be worth? Obviously prices vary by region.. but your opinion would be appreciated. Now would be the best time to sell her!

Hypothetically could I just remove the King Cobra and replace it with a Mercruiser unit?

I assume its not that simple.. or cheap... but the motor is fairly common and standard isn't it?

I know the boat came with different motor and drive options

Lastly.. is the King Cobra the actual drive unit or the combo with the motor? I see a manifold on ebay (for $500!) that says its for a King Cobra 460. All the other manifolds seem to be engine only specific.

Thanks

Not common at all, OMC is the only one that used it, and only for a few years. That is why no aftermarket company makes parts for it.

Take everything out that has OMC on it, and install a Merc or Volvo setup.
The only thing in common is the hole in the transom.

The is no OMC dealer support because there is no such thing as OMC anymore. As stated earlier, they went out of buisness about 10 years ago.

Just an FYI not all Holley carbs have power valves. My 4bbl doesn't on my 4.3.

What would you value this boat at anyways? It seemed like a great deal when I thought it had a 7.4 with a Mercruiser Bravo.. but now things have changed.

Ayuh,......

Probably about 1/2 of what you Paid for it,............
