Last fall I bought a 1980s Alumacraft Backtroller with a 1990s Yamaha 25 HP 2 stroke (Model Number 25 MLHS) that overheats at trolling speed. Does this sound like it might need a new water pump impeller?

Also, I accidentally broke the keel off the bottom of the motor. Is there any way to fix this without replacing the whole lower unit?

This is my first post with attached photos. I hope they come through.

Thanks for the help.

When was the last time the impeller was changed?
they are something that Yamaha recommends to replace at least every few years.

I don't know when the impeller was last replaced. don't recall if the previous owner said. Water seems to flow out of the engine pretty well at medium to high speeds, but I don't see any coming out at slow speeds, and the overheat light eventually comes on.
