Hello. I have a 2011 mercury 25hp efi outboard engine. Does anyone has a drawing or a manual how to change water pump impeller. It shouldn't be too hard so i would like to do it myself. I already bought outboard water pump impeller kit (2 gaskets, impeller and impeller key)

As far as a drawing goes, I use the a parts website to see the blowout of the area.

Most outboards are very close in design. I learned the first time using a YouTube video. It's not to bad. You just remove the outer nuts from the left and right of the lower unit and there are usually two bolts from below - one may be covered by a trim tail. Then you just unscrew the pump housing and swap the impeller, seals and key, just as they were on there already.

Hi. Changed impeller (old one was fine aswell) but still no cooling water from water pump indicator hole. Blew compressed air through water pump indicator hole - no blockage. Motor is running quite hot. What might be the problem? Even not a drop comes out of this indicator hole. Thermostat or something else? Sometimes alarm goes off aswell - overheating problem (continious sound). Checked some youtube videos - nice stream of water should come from indicator hole.

Make sure you have the water tube in place in the water pump as well as the powerhead. Also make sure the key is in place in the impeller. Did it pump water before you changed the impeller?

I installed it correctly. It didnt pump water with old impeller either (through the peehole). High temp alarm has gone off only few times in last few months. I blew compressed air through pee hole and i could feel it from primary cooling water intake hole.
