Went to go for a ride yesterday. Started OK, but was running a bit rough until revved, and smoking. Didn't think TOO much of it until it stalled and wouldn't start. Having problems with the switch (sometimes it turns the starter, sometimes not). Tried to pull start it when I realized that the engine wouldn't turn over, like seized. Also at some point noticed fuel pouring from the carb. Pulled the plugs and still had trouble turning the engine over. Eventually it turned. Cranked the starter and fuel poured from the lower cylinder. Finally figured that my carb flooded the engine enough to hydrolock it--never seen that before. Pulled the carb and found a small piece of something in the needle valve seat. Didn't do anything else to the carb. Put it back together, tried to start, nothing. Doesn't even catch at all with starter fluid. Looks like I'm getting spark; plugs were soaked, but I dried and cleaned them. Plan on replacing. Don't have a compression tester here, but putting fingers over the cylinders feels equal and there is compression. It sounds normal while turning over. I also managed to lose the o-ring at the fuel filter, so my troubleshooting is done until I get a new one. Plan on taking the carb apart, but I'm worried that I damaged something from the (presumed) hydrolock. Any other ideas/suggestions/checks? My other boat doesn't have an engine ATM, and my wife doesn't subscribe to the "you need at least 3" theory apparently.
