As far as size and weight are the 25 and 35 hp Johnson/evinrude the same motor?

Well I just checed a '77 Johnson catalog and it states the 25 and 35 as the same cubic inch, weight difference of 13 pounds

the exhausts are different for the late 70s, 35hp has through hub exhaust, 25 does not.
