I just got my hands on a free outboard which starts however it has a phantom model number.
Evinrude 25902B-E05714.
I know its 25 HP but can't get anyother info on it such as year of manufacture or if any parts are still available and through whom.
I was also wondering if anyone had a manual in PDF format or if one is available for trade.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 25 HP

congrat's, can't beat the price! I bought a 1970 evinrude 25 hp this spring. A fellow board member pointed me to an ebay auction for the service manual. Definately good to have. So, check ebay or links above.

Have had 0 prob's getting parts for mine from local OMC dealer parts counter. They even have the microfiche blowup pict, so I can just point and say "I need that". They've had every gasket or do-dad that I've asked for.

You might wanna check compression before you spend $$$. OB's can start and idle surprisingly well on only 1 cylinder.

here's the thread from when I bought mine this spring. Maybe interesting to you. One coil ended up being cracked, so I replaced both and points/condensers... I've put a few tanks of gas through it this summer. Runs good.
http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=036363#000000

good luck

Brent
