25 johnson year model help

my son in law bought this motor an i cant find the plate with model number
i looked on the little plug an it has g26 26 157 on it but cant match that number up
is any other way to tell model number

brp customer service might help you if that's the serial #...did you look on the port side of the transom mounting bracket ?

yep but the plate is to corroded to read
i think its a 90s model

you might have some luck using google images...start with 1990 Johnson 25 hp. outboard and work your way up or down by year model
