many larger boat owners live in a different area, than the boat. they come for a week or 2, then back to the grind.

Probably depends on you. If all you want to do is sit around a group and "party" you can do that much cheaper sitting in the parking lot. If you want to "get out" the 25 is a nice size. check cbrats.com, see what these folks do with their boats. How about Alaska - or maybe Bimini, or the canals of Europe or ??.

Took the boat for a ride last night, and sat on it at the dock.

Much more fun going for a ride!!

The primary use of our boat is fishing. Putting 30-40 miles on the boat a morning when fishing is commonplace. We burned almost 1,000 gallons of fuel between mid-March and the end of April.

We do lot of trips where we take the boat instead of the car. With only two crossings across the Bay in its entire 200-mile length, getting to the destination on the Eastern Shore by car can take 2-3 hours. Taking the boat turns that 2-hour trip into a 45-minute boat ride.

The Bay is famous for its tourist destinations that are accessible by water. A trip to Annapolis, St. Michaels, Oxford, Rock Hall or even down to Smith Island are all within a day?s cruise. We also have a number of friends with waterfront homes that we visit on a regular basis. Sitting on the deck of a waterfront home beats the heck out of sitting at a public dock. Sleeping on a Sealy in an air conditioned home instead of on the boat is even better.

We are looking at getting into a 27-28ft cruiser, but we won't be selling the 20' runabout. The idea is that we can take the cruiser out to a nice spot and anchor, sit and fish/drink/party all day. We can have the 20' out at the same time for all of the run watersports stuff while not burning through the gas like crazy. Almost using the cruiser for a "base camp" to get out of the sun for a while.

If it's just a one-day trip, we would probably just take the 20' out. Spending 2-3 days at the lake makes the cruiser worth it even with the lakehouse.
