I've got twin 1998's. Yesterday coming home in rough seas, starboard motor stalled repeatedly. Once we made it to calm waters it was fine. I've read this problem before in this forum, but have had no luck finding the thread...so I apologize if this is repetitive.
Its definitely a fuel issue...I shut the motor down as soon as I noticed the rpms dropping. Pumped the primer and it would run fine until the next time we hit a big swell.
I've done the routine fuel maintenance: 3 new low pressure fuel pumps this year, cleaned VST, & new fuel filters, Have not cleaned the o2 sensor this year, but don't suspect its the problem.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
