25HP 4 Stroke

I've recently purchased my first Honda outboard. It is a 25HP, 4 stroke 2003 model. I got a really good deal on this thing as it's only been used 4 times and had been sitting up. As expected it didn't run great but this didn't concern me much as it is expected because of lack of use. I've taken it to the nearest Honda service center and as expected the carbs are clogged. They've quoted me a price of over $800 smackers to make the repairs. The part that bothers me is I've got nearly that in the thing.....to say the least I'm a little dissappointed. My question is this......where can I purchase the rebuild kits (3) and or new carbs (3) at bagrin basement prices? Sorry if I'm repeating a previous asked and answered question but I'm really not all that good at these forum things. Thanks for any help!

You should have asked the Honda dealer for a service quote before buying the engine as to know where you were standing. Being a almost new engine with low hours on it and just probably requiring a good maintenance, with no or very few parts to change, it's a real armed robbery to quote 800 smackers, OUCH!! that really hurts. Honda it's a overpriced brand.

$800 bucks for some carb work? Dang man thats a bummer.
Are you sure the carbs are at fault for the current running performance of your motor.
I bought a 2001 honda 25hp last Oct.
First time i had on the water it ran like a slug, so i cleaned fuel-filter, gas tank, replaced gas lines & assembley. Checked carb & cleaned a bit.
Next time i had it on the water it was running fine from idle-wot for about a hour.

Honda parts are not cheap and if your thinking of buying 3-brand new carbs i would think it would be close to that $800.

As sea-rider said its a newer motor(2003) Low-hrs, just needs some adjustments, minor maintenance
which you should be able to do yourself.
