I have a 25HP Evinrude (Model E25RLCDC) and I need a new propeller for it. I am told that I need to get the year. I think it is a mid-to-late 80's model, but I'm not sure.

What year is it and what kind of prop do I need?

Thanks.

The kind of prop you need is going to depend on what kind of boat it's on. There's no single "right" prop for that or any outboard.

Thanks a lot. Just out of curiosity, how did you know that it was an '86?

Also, the boat is a 14ft Starcraft aluminum fishing boat. Nothing special. I realize that you can different pitches/diamteters, etc., but I was more worried about getting the right fit (# teeth and so on). Any help?

Thanks again.

There's a chart at marineengines.com that deciphers the code on those engines.

As for the prop and splines, etc., I don't know. Your engine is a lot newer than mine and I don't follow that stuff. You can use the prop finder right here on iboats (click Props up on the top of any page) and get a list of props that will fit your engine.

I wouldn't venture a guess as to the right pitch for your boat. It depends on so many things. What's on the outboard now?

The timing is weird. I too have a starcraft 14' boat with a 25 hp johnson(same as evinrude I think). I'm looking for another prop also. Mine currently has a 10x13 and runs very good(when I'm in the boat solo)-but I thought about buying a different pitch just to try and compare the results(when another 200+ lbs is added then it doesn't want to get up and plane out). You'll get no suggestions on here without a tach reading. I looked at props on this page and all were 10" props with varying pitchs.
