Hi,
I have 1990 Johnson 25hp and it has a long shaft conversion kit on it. I need to convert it to a short shaft. Does anybody know what parts I need to do this? Is there a kit available somewhere or do I need to buy the parts separately?
Re: 25hp Johnson Long Shaft to Short Shaft Conversion
Depending on whether it has a one piece shift rod or an extension, you will no doubt need he shorter drive shaft. I just did my 1975 25hp, all I needed to do was lose the shifter rod extension, water tube extension, and install a short shaft drive shaft. The hardest part was finding the drive shaft.

I have a standard that I want to cover to a long shaft...are you interested in exchanging parts? I did this on a 20hp already and it's pretty easy. I think the parts are the same but we will need to verify. Thanks
