25hp Johnson no spark

I'm trying to help out my girlfirends son who recently bought a used 25hp Johnson( late 70s model I believe). It ran for awhile after he first bought it, but now he says there is no spark. He did the usual testing and changed out the plugs to no avail. What would be the next most logical steps?

I'm no expert but I would start by getting a service manual and a gear puller. Pull the flywheel. Sounds like bad coils/wires to me.

get the model number, post it, and we can go from there....you'll need an air gap spark tester..~$10 at most auto parts places...go to the top of this page and read Sticky: Top Secret Files...lots of info there
