I have just bought a 2006 two stroke 25hp mercury with an aluminium 10" by 13pitch prop(factory standard), Its on a 14foot 4 inch tri hull fibreglass day boat.
At wot with just me on it i was getting around 4700-4800rpm ( manuel says 5000=6000) so far i have changed it to an 11 inch pitch and got it up to about 5350rpm's 18mph again with just me in,
Do you think this is the right prop for my applicaion as over here in the uk the next pitch size down is a 9.5inch pitch, giving me maybe another 300=400rpms taking it to 5650. or do you think the eleven is fine,as i dont want to be revving the balls off of it.or is 5300 not enough. Thanks
