25hp merc. value

I have a mercury 1982 25hp short shaft outboard. Starts and runs looks clean, good compression, runs a little rich so it could use a tune up. My question is whats it worth? Im pondering the idea of selling it but I have no idea what to ask for. Thanks for any info. It is not for sale at the moment, im just curious.

What's your location? I would say it definitely differs from place to place. I've seen those go for $700-800 in nice shape in northern MN.

Im in mass, thats what ive seen others being advertised for but I didnt know if people were just throwing a high # out there. Ive seen some advertised not running in the 350-450 range, so I figured mine would be worth more. Thanks for the reply

I'd say $450-650. a short shaft 25 is a very desirable motor. In fact I'd keep it since it would work well on a number of hulls. A lot depends of course on condition; a wel-used salt water motor of that age may present repair challenges due to stuck bolts.
