25hp mercury year

hay guys. I got a couple engines from the local university and wondering the year of one of them. it is a merc 25hp serial # 7167039. I've seen some guys in other threads nail the years of engines right on the head just with the serial number. If you guys can tell just from the serial number please teach me if you guys just run the number then it's all good. i'll never have that kind of equipment.

Just kidding, if it's a Mercruiser/mercury between 1980 and early 1998 on I/O's and 2006 on outboards then running the number here may find some of the engine years, but not all of them.
