270 pump rotor

Ok so my boat is not circulating water at all when the boat is in the water. the impeller is fine it runs great when a hose is hooked directly to the raw water pump. ive been told there is another pump in the outdrive for water. I cant find it in the parts breakdown, all i can see is a pump rotor on the same shaft as the prop, but that doesnt spin in neutral, and is that even for water? oil?

If by 270, you mean a Volvo Penta 270 outdrive, then no, there is no pumps in the outdrive.
What engine do you have (Model number)

yes sorry volvo penta 270, its an aq130c... Ive pulled off the hose from the elbow coming off of the drive it doesnt seem to be clogged. but just by visual inspection it looks like maybe its the gasket under the elbow, the hoses are pretty old too so i was going to change those as well. but just from browsing around if i have to change the plastic bushings on the drive it would be easier to install a through hull fitting... i dont want to punch a hole through my boat but i also dont want to pull apart the outdrive... Let me get this right, you don't want to fix it, and you don't want to install a thru hall fitting.
What would you like me to say???

How about a magical solution to my problem? Ok how about this so if I put in a through hull and cap off the the outdrive what else should I do to the outdrive? Nothing?

What makes you think the problem is at the fitting gasket?

If that is the problem, it would be an easier fix then drilling the hole.

Typically when the boat is idling in the water, the water should be flowing even if the gasket and bushings are shot since they are submerged in the water. Once the boat planes, that is when the air would be entering.
