Hi, I have few questions about the 270SC, as I am looking to import a boat from the US to here in Western Australia (there is little choice here and eye watering prices). The '97-'01 model 270 SC is currently top of my shortlist, but there is not one here to view so can any of you please help me with the following?
1) What is the headroom like in the saloon and heads, I am 6', will I be banging my head? Is the heads large enough to use the shower?
2) Is the standard 260hp 5.7L engine powerful enough, or does it really need the bigger option to avoid being pushed hard all the time, anyone tried skiing on the 260hp?
3) What is engine access like, can you reasonably get in there to check and repair down both sides of the engine?
4) What size are the berths, again at 6' would I fit ok in the forward and aft berths, can 2 people sleep in the forward or is it really a big single, what size berth does the table make in to (kids only?)?
5) Compared to similar size boats, what dont you like about it, any problems with build quality, how are the covers holding out (do they still fit ok), how are vinyl seats wearing etc?
6) is there much storage space on board?
7) how does it handle in choppy conditions?
I would really appreciate any feedback you are able to give on any of the above, there is not a lot of info on the web (2 small reviews) on these boats so hopefully this will help others too. Oh has anyone got a copy of the original brochure?
