The motor ran very well but just had a slight sneeze at startup till I messed up the link. The motor ran good but just needed a adjsutment. The through hub exhust has to be better than the old style exhuse used on the 28 hp motors or OMC whould not have ditched that style prop and exhust. Remember if it dount run right I remove it and put the 20 hp carb back on but if it runs good then it was worth it

I got the boat and motor back last week and run it last saturday with the 28HP carb after the carb was set up at the dealer. It ran really good and did not seem to miss a beat but the prop is slipping a bit and seems to be a bit tall at 13P. I got 27 to 28 mph ( more there but porposing as to a weight balance issue) at only 5100 RPM over the 23 mph to maybe 24 at 5000 rpm. I am going to a stainless Turbo hot shot 11P prop in the spring to get the RPM's to 5500 where they should be as I just found out.<br /><br />By the way they charged me 35.00 to go over the motor and adjust the sink n link and adjust the carb and check the timing and all that.

The dealer really does a very good job and has a very reasonable 35.00/ hour shop rate and does a good job and honest. They have worked on my motors for 10 years now. I had a 9.9 Jonny with 15 carb that did not run like it should till they tuned it up and then it ran like a top.

Cool, shop rates average around $75.00 an hour in my area, 35.00 was why I decided to learn how to do the work on my own vehicles and that was a long time ago.
