I have the above leg ser # ( 29500244h) it is behind a AQAd30a diesel, no where can I find the actual model of leg,
it has duo prop labeled on the leg but nothing else. I thought it was a 280 but after ordering parts, I'm now sure it's a 290, it has the stainless cylinder anchor Attachment . Can anybody confirm it's a 290 with that serial number and I have looked at the various schematics
This is further to my bell housing posting so I am progressing. Motor is out and new PDS bearing installed just waiting on the exhaust pipe oring as I got the wrong one.

29500244h isn't coming up as any thing found nor does it appear to be a correct serial number from Volvo. Typically their serial number may start with a 4 such as 4110136750 for example. Or their may be a product number found on the same ID tag such as 3868181 for example... http://www.volvopentastore.com/mall/...enta/help.html

What year is the boat these are in? Mostly due to the serial number search doesn't really work well for anything older than 1991.
Though still difficult to tell at times, A photo of the drive may be needed to try and help narrow it down a just bit better if older then 91 or you can't find similar numbers needed.

The identification of the product is found on a plate on every Volvo Penta Product.

Valid search criterias in relation to the product,
- Product Designation (1) e.g. D11A-B (INB)
- Product Number (2)
- Serial Number (3)

Note that you also might find information regarding campaigns (product corrections) on your engine, drive or shield. If there are no campaigns on your product this will not show up. This information is only available when searching by serial number.

Search by serial number will only work for for products manufactured after 1991.

What does the tag on the input housing to the gearbox say it is?

Thanks for the prompt replys , the boat is a 70s something Double Eagle and the motor and leg would have been installed in or around 83-86. That serial number I gave came off what I thought was the input housing, I tried up loading a pic but my file was to big , and so far I haven't been able to figure out how to resize them on my IPad.

Going by the big hole behind the fork and just behind the hole for item number 17 in the Intermediate Housing should make it a Aq Drive Unit 290: Drive 290.

Knowing the engine is a AQAd30a, it came with a few options for drive units made/installed. The Duoprop Drive Unit: Dp280 and Duoprop Drive Unit: Dp290 are listed plus a V-Drive Unit: B, Aquamatc Drive Unit: A & Aquamatc Drive Unit: B.

Here is a Transmissions parts catalog for both DP drives that was connected to the AQAD30A engine models. If you click on the AQAD30A then on Transmissions you'll see both complete drive listed and be able to see them broken down into parts such as the upper, Intermediate and lower Housings. It should help give you an idea too.

Thanks for that info Funtimes, that confirms my suspicions, all the parts I bought to date have been interchangeable, but to 2 Orings when there should have been one for the exhaust pipe halted the engine installion this weekend.
Thanks again.
