hey i just switched from 4 barrel to 2 barrel cuz my oil cooler was leaking. there are some differences. you need an adaptor plug to change your oil filter housing from the way it is to make it screw right on the side of the block. i had some trouble getting my throttle cable to work. does your throttle cable run down the starboard side of your intake or behind the back of the motor and up and over the valve cover?

i was the one that needed to screw my filter right to the side of the block. you need the offset housing with the plumbing for the oil cooler. i saved all the parts to put it back to 4 barrel. but the oil cooler does leak.........

Re: 2bbl to 4bbl

then i think your cable might be to short. the problem is the way the linkage on the side of the carb is set up. you have an additional piece of linkage that bolts to your intake that isnt there on the four barrel intake. so the throttle cable has to be long enough to route around the back of the motor and up and over the valve cover. is there a place to bolt the black barrel part of your throttle cable onto the top of your valve cover instead of on the intake?

I did the same thing ,went from a 2bbl to 4bbl, had issues with throttle cable and wound up fabbing a bracket and using the 2bbl linkage. I did not use the oil cooler though didn't really see the need,I did install a oil temp gauge just to be able to dertermine if it will be needed when on the water.

have you had this setup out on the water yet? was just wondering if you noticed any big changes? in fuel usage? power/ ease getting on plane? not trying to jack thread. i think its relevant.

Haven't had it out yet, I just got the motor done and running. I still have some small things to do yet and have to hope for some rain here as the lakes are real low. So far I've run it about an hour and no issues on temps but that is on muffs.........
