2hp Evinrude slows itself down

This winter I picked up a 1972 2hp Evinrude, Model 2202M. It starts and runs great, but while it's running it pulls the speed lever over to stop. The level doesn't move unless the motor is running. It takes a noticeable amount of force to hold it running with my finger.

Is there something I can tighten or adjust to keep it from moving?

Found the solution after staring at the parts diagram a bit more. There's an "armature plate adjustment" screw on the side that tightened it up.
