Anybody know what might me involved in adding a second trim switch on the or around the swim platform. This would allow me to raise or lower the outdrive when in the water or in my driveway without having to climb into the boat.

thanks

Just use the same 3 wires that go up to the trim switch at your console.

Re: 2nd trim switch

I happend to come across a generic switch at my local Westmarine yesterday. Is Fast Eddies a on-line store, I would like to compare the one I found to the one you bought.

thanks

The website is down right now.

You can't directly order online.Best thing to do is call them.

I ordered the switch which is the one in the link I posted above. I may or not have the mating connector already so it may be plaug and play with no wiring necessary. If not, not a big deal.

The plug in the wire harness is the same.
I bought the switch from a Merc dealer, put it on my Volvo. Don't get confused between Merc drive systems and all of the other common components.

Word of advice, put masking tape on the area you are going to drill and use a sharp bit. This will help keep the gel coat from chipping.
I put mine on the port side facing into the swim platform at the boarding ladder. Love it!

Thanks for the link and the drilling tip. The link does not seem to be working, but I will try it on my home computer. It's hit or miss with the filters at work.

thanks
