3.0 alternator bracket

Have '86 3.0. The alternator adjusting bracket broke just in front of where the adjusting bolt is. Its the slotted section. Broke first on top and then on bottom portion. The bolt mounting to block snapped off, which I replaced.
Thinking of putting fiber washer between alternator and bracket to hopefully absorb vibration. Any ideas?

Do you mean that after you replace the bracket you're wondering if a fiber washer will help?
My brackets have lasted 42 and 36 years respectively just by having all 3 bolts tight.
Millions of cars were built the same.
I'm guessing 1 or more bolts were loose allowing any vibration to break the bracket.

replace the bracket and tighen all the bolt to spec.
