I am with those that say wait and the you will end up probably changing boats anyway. I spent 7 years with my old boat. Over that time I always wanted more power but also found other things I wanted in a new to me boat. 1 thing I can tell you is that if you go the V6 route you will always regret not going the V8 route. The work involved will be the same. The weight is that of 1 more person that bails on boat day anyway. I have a 5.7l and deep down want it to die so I can justify a 383 (have the Bravo so ready to go).

Yea i was thinking that about the V8 power but with the machine work (im more then capable machinist, worked in areospace) you can do to a V6 and waiting for the right deals you can get 250 out of a naturally aspirated V6 easily without getting into actually MPI stuff which ia big MONEY.. and without putting a different drive on.. im limited to 300hp with the Alpha 1.. and even then they have blue print naturally aspitaed V6s out there so with time and patienence the lord will drop the right motor in my lap or he wont haha.. i dont think my boat could do much going from 300 to 400 or whatever crazy horse power there is out there because of my haul design.. V8s are purty though and would love a true big power boat some day
