If you want water flow that would be a good idea, yes...

Re: 3.0 lx assembly help

so now im rebuilding the carb and the mercruiser manual #13 doesnt have my carb model # listed. it is 807504 and under that it is 6201 which is the date stamp code. I need to know the float levels, inverted and hanging, the accelerator pump rod height, choke unloader setting etc. really all the adjustments for this specific carb. if anybody can help me out on this that would be awsome.

What's the serial number of your engine?

Re: 3.0 lx assembly help

I just had a look in manual #26, your carburettor is there. It appears the boat is 1996, but the engine is not. This is why we ask for engine serial numbers, not the year of the boat. Unlike a car which the year of the car IS the year of the engine, boats can be 're-powered' with newer engines..... My boat is 1972, and the original engine was also 1972, but in 1994 I re-powered with a new engine, and then again in 2006. I would love someone to find data for a 1972 4.3MPI... That would be really interesting. :D

This what you're after??

You would probably get a lot better answers and more of them if you actually started a different thread for each different item.
Your original post started with an oil pump, somewhere in the middle it turned to the impeller, then moved on to shutters and now carbs.
So unless someone reads all 28 replies now, they have no clue what you are working on now.

Re: 3.0 lx assembly help

achris...engine serial number is f881374, ( block is stamped with 96), head is also stamped 96 and on the carb, the numbers under the six digit number are 6201 which according to the manual the carb was built feb 01 1996. everything points to 96 but you never know about a used boat and what its previous owners did to it.
secondly achris... that manual looks like it ...Thankyou very much. so i have manual #13... what does #26 cover?

DonS...as far as starting a new thread and getting more responses I totally agree with you. the only reason i have been doing it the way i have is because when i was on the hull restoration section, i was told to keep everything to one thread so people knew what i was doing and didnt get confused. that really bothered me especially because i had'nt even started my restoration project yet. I was just asking general questions that i couldn't find the answers to on the sometimes annoying search function.

but now reading your reply again, lol, you read all 28 replys.

Not really, I just spot scanned to find what all changed.

And that backfires on them too. Why do you think oops had to finally go through his whole thread and make an index.
The other things, only a select few keep up with those really long threads and really keep up and answer questions.
Most just read some and move on.

Re: 3.0 lx assembly help

Manual #26 is for GM 4Cyl 1998 to present. Checked your serial number and is does come back as 1996, so why the carby is not covered in the 1996 manual is anybodies guess. But there you go....

Chris...........

well thanks for clearing that up . It does make more sense to kind of individualize certain things. Im not trying to step on anyones toes. just trying to learn.

ACHRIS... yeah theres no telling....some more to try and stump you.....venturi cluster is stamped 471(the manual for the 807504 says it should be 171) ... think its a misprint?
