Ok guys help me figure this out! this spring i bebuilt the 3.0 in my boat, block sleeved, bored .040 over etc complete rebuild, anyway after the rebuild it ran perfect all summer, no issues. well last time i used it was last week of august and it has been sitting since, so last sunday i went out and figured i'd winterize it ...i start it up on the muffs let it run for about 15 min so i can do the oil change...then i check the oil it took in probally 2-3 qts of water and my oil is all milky, it still ran fine. I just cant figure why it would do this it was fine till i ran it on the muffs so the problem happened while sitting....my best guess is either head gasket went bad, sealant on headbolts let go, or bad manifold.... now i have to flush the crap out of the engine to get all the oil/water out before i winterize ....
Anyone ever have this happen? i do use it n salt water maybe corrosion?? doesnt make alot of sense.. any suggestions would be great!

I do not know that much about the setup in an I/O, but is it possible that the intake manifold gasket let go somewhere. I have this happen to a V-6 in a car. Intake mnifold gasket leaked and dumped 1-2 gallons of water into the crankcase.

For the flush, fill the entire crankcase with deisel fuel then drain. When you refill woth good oil, you will be good to go...

what kind of cooling system. if closed you can do a pressure test on the cooling system. leakdown and compression test on the engine to narrow down your problem. how do your plugs look?

i havent done a comp test yet , but it did run well. i will do that sunday, i already got diesel fuel to do a flush with,it isnt a closed cooling system so i cant do a leak down test on it that way. just doesnt make alot of sense. I am kind of thinking manifold or manifold gasket, when i rebuilt it i reused the old manifold....
also oil has been draining for days...oild mixed with water comes out my drain hose like molasses and i dont have a oil pump that goes down through the dip stick...
big pain in the *****!!!!!!!

Ayuh,... Is there water in the water jacket,..??
If so, Drain it,... Block off a few hoses,+ Put the Air to it....You'll Hear where it's leaking...
