This is a boating technical topic. Sorry for the rule stretch. the GM 3.0L covers many experts, so I'm chumming wide here.
Getting ready to pull the balancer on my neighbor's 3.0L Cobra. I really, really don't want to remove the front cover...loosen oil pan, etc. I recall a past post where a special seal extractor was recommended to pull a Alpha prop shaft outer seal from the carrier.
It was a hollow tube that slipped over the shaft with threads on the OD that grabbed the seal's case and pulled it out. Any such thing for my front cover seal?
I can hammer/pry it out, but I want to avoid any seal bore/shaft damage, plus the related effort.
Thanks, Dave
