I am needing a new hub for my 1989 pontoon trailer(crank up style) my problem is that it has a 3/4 in. spindel. I can't find a hub anywhere. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: 3/4 in. spindel?

Just my opinion....... 3/4" seems really too small. Is this a single axle trailer or tandem? If it is a single axle and if I owned it ... I would change both spindles to a standard size.

Post a picture.....

I have had good luck getting axle parts from Northern Tool but they do require welding. I figure if you are in for a penny you might as well be in for a pound ;)

Re: 3/4 in. spindel?

3/4 inch spindles on a pontoon trailer is definitely wrong as the load capacity is way short of requirements - tandem axle or not. That axle is barely capable of supporting the trailer alone much less with a pontoon on it. If you are measuring the threads that's the wrong place to measure. Measure the spindle where the outer bearing sits. My guess is you have a 1-inch spindle which is still marginal. If it is 1-1/16 where the front & rear bearing sits that's still only a 2000 - 2200# trailer. 1-1/16 outer and 1-3/8 inner is highly recommended.
