hey thanks! the guy who i bought it from a couple days ago said it was 36 to one, i found that odd but i mixed it per his specification and ran it for a while. do you think that this could be the reason its running a little ruff? where did ya find it was a 71? id be interested to read anything you can tell me where to look or anything you say about it! thanks

I can tell by the model number. They dont really relate to anything but after seeing the numbers so many times it is just automatic. Most web sites that sell parts for chrysler only go back to 1976 and even then most parts are for a 35 HP and bigger. You can try the chrysler crew just google it and maybe find more info there. They have a chat thursday nights and you should be able to get the correct mixture information from them. My clymer manual says 50 to 1 but it covers so many motors I dont trust it to the smaller motors. Some of the older small motors were air cooled so not only was the mix different you needed air cooled oil to mix because there is more heat then the water cooled models. Keep mixing it the way you are until someone tells you different. If your motor is water cooled make sure the oil you are mixing in your gas is TC-W3.
