I need some help… I have an ’85 Mark Twain 3.8L w/a OMC Stinger drive. I want to use this boat for skiing and I don’t believe that the current prop is set up for it… I managed to blow out my hamstring last year trying to get up slalom. The engine runs strong and the boat is fast but as soon as you drag something behind it, it has some trouble plaining. I was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction of a good propeller for this engine/drive.

Thanks,
Mike

Re: 3.8L OMC Stinger prop

Welcome to Iboats.

You'll need to know what your current RPM at Wide Open Throttle (WOT)is, and what the pitch of the existing prop is. Also, might be helpful to know the diameter and number of blades. Without that info there is not much to recommend . . .

Check out the WOT and propeller threads in the Engine FAQ section. That will help you some too. Good luck!
