I am currently running a 14.25 x 19p Stiletto 3 blade prop. What results would I see if I installed a 14.25 x 19p Stiletto 4 balde prop?

Boat specs:

2006 Bayliner 175
MerCruiser 3.0L 4 banger 135hp
Alpha 1 with 2.0 ratio.
GPS- 45.xxx mph @ 5000 RPM with just 2 people on board.
GPS- 43.xxx mph @ 4800 RPM with 4 people on board, which is most of the time.

The Bay Pro III is the prop you're refering to. That's a good prop but it's intended to be used on outboards so you can increase the X dimension when doing what you're talking about. The Bay pro II (14" diameter) is the Stiletto 4 blade designed to run a little deeper, as in the case of most outdrives.

Going to the BP III I'd suspect your top r's would come down slightly and the holeshot to take a tad longer. That can be helped with venting if you're not running thru-transom exhaust.

Been there done that, while every hull is different and as Dhadley has pointed out a 18p baypro 11 would be a better chocie...You would notice a lower planning speed...more lower midrange punch ...less wake and a much smoother overall feel to the boat. The cost would be about 1 mph if all things were equal..that is the 11 series provide a lot of lift...at top speed you will have less wetted surface..less drag which makes up in some part for the pitch reduction and the addition of the fourth blade.

There will probably little differnce in hole shot the 3 blade stilletto is a very grippy prop....but with a boat load of people you will notice a power response difference...I cant tell you why but i really perfer the 11 series over all of the props i used just a smoother ride and much more midrange response..

Matt, did you ever make a change with your prop?

Please do not resurrect old posts. Use the PM system to ask a poster a question. That poster's last entry in iboats was Feb of this year and he has not been active recently. If you click on a member's name you can see the profile and send them a message.

It is a better practice to PM then bring old stuff to the top ;) I will close this post so member's do not waste time and effort in it.
