ha, i did it, went boating today with a 70% chance of rain and all. procrastinated yesterday through a weather forecast like that. it didn't rain. and i didn't go out do to the forecast...:(
well, today was the same forecast. i went anyways...

got heavy rained on on the way out. hit every stop light on the way out of town.. :( it was raining in lincoln when i left, but not at the lake. all i needed to do was to get north some. darn lights. so. i make it to the lake. no sweety this time, she ain't gonna go out and be rained on. i told her she wouldn't, but she wasn't buying it.
so i launch, not many folks at the lake today due to the weather. easy launch. no rain.
so went on about testing my rig out, which was why i wanted to get out bad. i pulled my engine last week to R&R a leaky oil pan. i wanted to see if i fixed it, or maybe had created new problems from the engine R&R.
so everything is working great. just like it did last time out, but this time, w/o a oil leak. i think i'm hip for that leak, yeah.
so while i'm out having my fun, the starts to rain of course. then it starts to rain hard. but being the resourceful fella i am, i had my trusty aft curtain on board my hardtop boat. went full enclosed. rain, who cares. then, i'm just floating around watchin folks scramble for the dock. then it starts to hail. oh... that's something new i've not experienced yet. till today. nothing like being full enclosed in a hail storm. :D weathered the hail storm w/o indecent. it was only small pea size hail. so while it's hailing, the sun comes out, still hailing though. so, it's like this will go away. and it did. turned to sun, with heavy dark black clouds approaching from the west. it'd stopped raining too. so it's like, i'm gone. load up, go home, take my time about putting her to sleep. and just as i'm ready to put the last of the cover on, it starts to rain. been raining ever since.. last hour or so..

not a bad fathers day. do wish the sweety would have gone out and weathered the storm too. it was fun..

the fun...

This time of the year, down here in Tampa Bay, thundershowers are expected in the afternoon.

Went out Sunday, putting in on the eastern side. Ran north to escape one storm, then ran west a good bit to escape another.

Did stay dry but burned up a bit of gas doing it

We went over to Tampa and ran up the Hillsboro River last Tuesday. Got home and discovered it had rained a couple of inches in St Pete. Saw on the news that it also rained hard in Tampa. We never got a drop while we were out.

man, ya guys are either real good at avoiding the rain, or, lucky.. ;)

seems like i'm always getting rained on. and i'm in nebraska where it don't rain near as much. granted, we've been having a wet spring this year. lots of snow this last winter too for that matter. not florida where i understand it always rains in the afternoon.. good job at avoiding the storms guys..

i'm thinking about an overnighter this weekend too. guess what the forecast is at this time? yep, rain overnight (again).. i will say, i sure have learned to like a hardtop boat for the rain. worked good for the hail too. :D

It was pure luck, Ziggy.

Yea, phwrd. We ran up to the tower, and then came back and had lunch at Rick's.

I wanted to go fishing this past Saturday but they were talking 70% chance of rain-- so I changed my plans and did some freelance work instead. Turns out to be a beautiful sunny day with hardly a cloud in the sky all day while I'm indoors working my butt off.

At least I made some money.
