My guess it is a transducer that was stuck inside the hull with some sort of glue or epoxy and has came loose. If installed correctly they work fairly well. Look in the bilge and see if there are any spots that give you a clue where it was mounted.

Like said above, the shoot-thru-hull transducer has come loose. It may work if you can epoxy glue it back down again. You can test if the unit is working before that by placing an AM radio set to about 600kHz very close to the cable while the unit is on. There should be a clicking sound cause by the head unit sending pulses through the cable. A defective/open circuit transducer will mean no current and no clicking.

It may serve no purpose now since you have another unit installed. It was probably too much trouble to pull it out of the wiring bundle than it was worth, so it was left there. That's my guess.

Was probably just for a depth finder with a gauge to read it in the dash.
Pretty much useless if you have a fish sonar.

Old thru-hull transducer for a fish finder or depth sounder. Don't worry about since you have a fish finder.

Check for voltage at the switch for the live well aerator. If you have voltage, pop the pump cartridge out of the base and check for debris jamming the impeller. No voltage, look for a fuse.

What is the 4th pic with the circle and arrow?

here is a larger image. I have no Idea what it is for. The boat has a fish box in the front with a drain maybe thats for the drain? Im not sure.

Oh and as far as the well aerator, do i manually fill it up and use the aerator and then manually drain it?

Can you move your shadow out of the way and drop to one knee for the next pic?

Nice haircut by the way ;-)

No offense, but you need to do some exploratory investigation about the boat. That's what I had to do to find out all the idiosyncrasies. Trace wires and/or hoses to their ends to find out what they do. You will be much happier after that, trust me ;-)

More of an FYI as your not using the transducer any longer but if you did test it, fill a bucket or pail full of water. Place the transducer in the bucket and put the bucket on the hull where you intend to install it. Turn the depth sounder on and it should work. The boat must be in the water of coerce.

I installed one in my boat this summer and this was part of the installation instructions for it. As mentioned above the AM radio will click as well but not sure if that is an indication of function but may be more power to the unit.

I also test mine by just hanging it over the side. The cable is plenty long. I tried the bucket thing and it did not work for me.

Here’s a better pic without my shadow in it. I don’t see a original depth gauge for that transducer. At this point I’ll leave it since it’s a pain to try and trace anything on this boat being just a outdrive with limited access to the wiring.
