3 quick beeps when ignition is turned and peeing @ 145 degrees

I have been rigging a 99 mercury 200hp carbed m otor today. Thanks to a few guys on here all has been going well so far.. I have the motor rigged but when I turn the ignition instead of hearing 1 long beep I hear 3 fast beeps. Also when I ran the motor it was not peeing ery good. I ran compressed air through and got it peeing good but water is at 145 degrees.. seems very hot to me..

forgot to mention..the alarm only beeps when key is first turned. It does not beep when running..

Battery voltage low causes it to drop beeps. It is the oil alert module talking to you. You can do some checks to see if it is operating normally otherwise.

Disconnect the tank sensor wires and short them together. Start the engine. It should yell at you.

Connect them back up, disconnect the rotation sensor. Start the engine. It should yell at you.

Connect that back up. Disconnect the green wire off the ignition, probably #2 spark coil wire. start the engine. It should yell at you.

hook it back up.

BTW, if you're wired so the boat master switch, and the engine key both operate the gauges, but the boat switch doesn't set off the alarm, there's two steering diodes in the supply circuit that could be going bad.

145 us OK for T-stat water discharge.

i HAVE 12.25 VOLTS SO THAT LOOKS GOOD.
I DISCONNECTED THE TAN WIRE FROM THE OIL SENSOR AND THE 3 FAST BEEPS WENT AWAY AND SO DID THE 1 LONG BEEP. DOES THAT MEAN THE SENSOR IS BAD?
I WILL TRY YOUR OTHER TEST IN THE MORNING

The tan/blue wire from the oil alert module is the alarm output. Of course the beeps went away when you disconnected it.

Do exactly as I said. and report back. While you're at it, check the voltage at the purple wire on the oil alert module to rule out bad connections/power supply steering diodes.

It would help if you look in the book and use the proper terms so I don't have to guess at what you are talking about.

Now you said both the 3 short beeps and the 1 long beep went away. Before you said the expected long beep wasn't there. Just exactly what is the tone when you turn on the key? (With the tan wire connected, of course)
