3 Solenoids, are they identical?

Trying to get my OMC cobra 3.0L running, the previous owner gave me a box with the starter, alternator, and the three solenoids (up, down, and assist). Are these solenoids identical or is each one different? I am getting ready to hook the wires back up, I have a manual w/ diagram, but can't tell if these are interchangeable. Thanks!

Hi Pete30, are there any markings on the relays, model numbers or whatever, is the manual diagram a picture of the relays and wiring or an actual electrical schematic diagram, if it's a schematic deciding which relays are the same or different is easy.

Pete, the Up and Down solenoids should be the same. But watch out for the starter assist solenoid, it might have additional contact or two - for resistor wire bypass etc. Check your manual for proper wiring!

Hope this helps.
Lou

Thanks Lou,

After staring at the wiring diagrams in the Clymer's and Seloc for a few hours I think I have it figured out!
