1. What's it called when a wakeboard boat has the prop under neath the boat like on a Mastercraft or Tige?

2. What does this prop positioning do for performance, ride, experience etc?

3. Does this cause issues when you try to park on a sandbar when you want to go party and hang out?

First off...
The only truly stupid questions, is the one that is never asked.
Don' try and break, when someone could have saved you a whole lot more money and time if you has asked.

#1 - These are called Inboards, but there are two different types. There are direct drive boats, and V-drive boats. A direct drive has the motor more almost in the exact center of the boat and directly on top of the propeller.(Most common in Mastercraft ski baots). V-drive boats have the motor near the stern, this is seen more common in newer wakeboard boats due to the extra weight being pushed to the rear.

#2 - Don't have much technical knowledge in answering this one. :(

#3 - Yes, an inboard boat can not in most cases be beached. The propeller hangs lower than any other part of the boat, unlike a sterndrive or outboard where the ruddder portion of the motor is lower than the propeller.

#3. It is possible however to pull up to the sandbar if done correctly. The goal is not to get to close, then walk the boat in and tie up.

See it done all the time, dont be afraid to push the boat back out into a bit deeper water before really going however.

Another addition to #2...
While I was thinking, it would help produce a larger wake when weighted down due to the wake being started before the stern of the boat and not the from from the outdrive. This would allow the stern to push harder in the water, giving more emphasis to the wake.
And, it would help maintain a smooth cleaner wake when not weighted down because the stern stays flat on the water and doesn't get pushed down by an outdrive.

#1 Its an inboard as said above, and they come in Direct Drive and V-Drive configurations. I have a V-Drive with a 2 speed Transmission.

#2. Prop position allows for better tracking (going straight) and better, tighter turning since the force and direction of the force are bothe created under the boat. However, you have no steering in reverse. Ride can be rougher in chop because there is no trim, and top speed oftern suffers for the same reason. However, it is much safer as well as the prop blades are not exposed to swimmer and people boarding your boat, and they can't jump off and hit it. Also, they generally do not hang down as deep in the water as a sterndrive.

#3. It can, but if you are smart about it, it won't. The boat actually will have less draft, but you can't trim to prop up out of the way. However, people do it all the time.

In essence, the stern drive has advantages in speed and fuel economy. Though, it suffers when you get into Waterposts, Skiing, wakesurfing, wakeboarding and tubing.

Its really all about what you want to do with your boat.
