I have a 1986 Evinrude 30 hp tiller. Runs great, lower unit came apart on me. I picked up an early 80's johnson 35 hp for parts. They are both long shaft motors but the lower from the evinrude was one piece. The lower on the johnson is a standard gear case with an extension bolted on top of it.

Does anyone know if this will work?

Your best bet is to slide it in and see if it works.

My 87' 25hp SS Rude needed a lower unit and I had one off a 81' 35 hp Johnson. It fit but the I had to drill out the 6 mounting holes in the LU slightly in order for them to line up with the threaded holes in the leg. Been running it for awhile now with no problems.

I think you need to be more specific. Need model numbers, at least.
